The Foothold Labs NanoRev rapid diagnostic system uses electrochemistry and a new form of scalable biosensor to detect pathogens in small volume saliva samples using immobilized antibodies or enzymes. The NanoRev can detect nanoamp size changes in an electrical current that is passed through the functionalized biosensor. We then use proprietary machine learning algorithms to focus on the critical data and weed out the signal noise as well as irrelevant data. Our system costs $4200 per kit, each test costs $25-35, and is easy to use as well as portable in the field. This is perfect for quickly screening patients for pathogens such as COVID-19 so that only high confidence samples are sent to testing in an expensive professional lab using ELISA, HPLC, or rt-PCR machines.
